Ashland City sits on a bend in the Cumberland River, and most of what is worth doing here happens outdoors. The Bicentennial Trail runs close to seven miles along the water on an old railroad line, flat and paved for most of it, past small waterfalls, wetlands and two timber trestles more than a century old. Riverbluff Park has river access for kayaks and paddleboards. Nashville is there when you want the music.
